openRC F1 wheels for LEGO tires
thingiverse
After printing the openRC F1 designed by Daniel Noree, I wasn't able to make proper tires with TPU, the grip was extremely bad. I went ahead with the off the shelf Tamya F104 tires but still wasn't satisfied so I went ahead modified the wheels to fit some LEGO tires 68.8 x 36 ZR and to be honest I a impressed with the result. Tires fitment is great and the grip is perfect and on top of that these tires are extremely cheap, you can purchase them directly from LEGO for about 3CAD each or about 1-2CAD from Bricklink. The rear wheels require support in the center only and I have included a modified lock nut for the rear to keep wheels firm on the axle. If like me you have issues with Spur gear moving around, you can use the spur gear lock included in the STLs. For better clearance while steering, I have included the front updated spoiler designed by Daniel Noree. In the rear you will need to cut a portion of the rear chassis part; I will try to modify it and upload it in the next few days.
