Anyone interested in the work of Daniel Noreé has likely been eagerly awaiting the release of his latest project, OpenR/C Formula 1. The F1 car can be printed in PLA and is designed to be user-friendly, allowing anyone to print and build it without any hassle. A ball bearing kit is now available from http://www.fasteddybearings.com/openrc-f1-sealed-bearing-kit/ for the car. I have been informed that Daniel is close to releasing the F1 car, and I knew I had to create some tires for the project. If you plan to print the F1-car when it's released, here is your chance to be prepared with new tires in the pit stop now. I created some rain tires for the original rims but also designed a set of low profile rim/tires just for fun. The low profile tires feature a snap-on design that secures the tire using a triangular shape that interconnects the parts. The tires are not sealed with this design, making them softer since the air is not trapped inside. Check http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1103751 for more information on this design. This snap-on design can also be used for tires/rims that can be used with the OpenR/C Touring Car or similar RC cars naturally.
