The OpenR/C Formula 1 car is a third generation model, focusing on simplicity in design. It can be printed entirely in PLA, except for the tires which require NinjaFlex material. However, users have the option to print it with any desired material. The servo saver is designed to work with PLA and applies force similar to that of a conventional servo saver; adjustments can be made by adding washers. Some parts need support while printing, including Front Spoiler.stl, Front.stl, Rear Rim.stl, Rear Wing.stl, and Servo Saver Lower.stl. To complete the project, filament, M3 screws and nuts, bearings, and electronic components are required. Filament can be purchased from a preferred supplier, while M3 screws and nuts can be bought at a local hardware store. Check the BOM list for necessary bearing specifications or purchase a kit from FastEddyBearings.com. For electronics, an ESC and motor combo, battery, micro servo, and transmitter/receiver are needed; suggestions are provided in the text. A LiPo charger is also required for new R/C hobbyists. Rain tires and low profile rims/tires designed by Thomas Palm are available on Thingiverse. This project is licensed under Creative Commons - Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0).
