OpenPANtTIL is a DIY, 3D-printed PAN/TILT head designed specifically for timelapse photography with DSLR cameras. The robust design enables users to carry their DSLRs with ease. Feel free to modify and customize them according to your preferences. The complete unit consists of nine distinct 3D-printed components: 1. A sturdy camera mount with built-in quick-release holes. 2. The left side of the cradle, designed to be identical to the right part. 3. The right side of the cradle. 4. The tilt mount, featuring a NEMA17 stepper motor and bearing space. 5. The complementary tilt mount for precise movements. 6. An upper pan mount connecting the two tilt units via M8 Rods and lazy susan bearing space. 7. A cover plate protecting the top pan unit with an additional bearing compartment. 8. The compact pan stepper motor box, including a NEMA17 stepper motor. 9. The bottom pan unit housing a stepper motor. To assemble OpenPANtTIL: Required hardware pieces include: - 2x Worms from sdp-si - 2x A-1Y-5MYK08RA Worm Gears - 2x NEMA17 stepper motors - 1x Axial Ball Thrust Bearing for lazy susan application - 4x Smaller axial ball bearings - Threaded rods of specific lengths and sizes for assembly. Assemble OpenPANtTIL in stages. Start with assembling the cradle, then attach the tilt unit. Next, build the pan unit and add the necessary motor gears. Secure all parts using suitable hardware.
