OpenOrbital - parametric orbital shaker
thingiverse
An orbital shaker, ideal for culturing cells, features a lightweight design powered by a stepper motor. Placement within an incubator is facilitated by its external variable-speed control panel. Visualize its operation via OpenSCAD animation. Planar acrylic shapes are laser-cut, while other parts are 3D printed, including 4 spindles, 4 joiners, a motor cog, a spindle cog, and 12 rotational bearings. Acrylic laser cutting is also required for 2 lower plates and 1 shaking plate, with pillar options available through 3D printing or manual production. Optional extras include sticky pads and rubber feet for culture flasks, as well as a stepper motor, EasyDriver board, Arduino (keypad shield recommended), DC power supply, and future bolted motor attachment design.
