OpenLock/MagBall Dungeon Tile Base - Supportless & TrueTiles

thingiverse

This is the ultimate OpenLock compatible dungeon tile base, designed to work seamlessly with standard OpenLock clips as well as 5mm Ball Magnets (MagBalls). One of its standout features is that it can be printed without supports, eliminating the need for tedious removal or snapping off parts. As a result, your prints finish faster and more efficiently. I've carefully crafted this design so you can print it as-is, then attach the rest of the tile on top using CA glue. To do this, simply slice off 6.2 mm from the bottom of your chosen tile before printing, ensuring a smooth fit when assembling the two pieces together. Alternatively, you can use this base to kit-bash a tile and print it all in one piece. Again, you'll need to slice off 6.2 mm from the bottom of your tile, then boolean combine or union the remainder with this base for a seamless connection. In this case, you may need supports in the center of the tile to ensure stability. I've included a comprehensive range of standard tile sizes, as well as TrueTiles sizes (1.25" squares) for those who prefer a more traditional approach. UPDATE: I've also added a Bool Tool to enable you to easily incorporate this socket into your own custom designs. IMPORTANT NOTE: When using MagBalls, be sure to push them firmly into their slots from the inside to avoid damaging or de-laminating the part.
