OpenLock 5.0 Wall "A" Tudor, Wood, Cross Beam Styles This remix of the Devon Jones OpenForge 2.0 Wall Construction Kit: Tudor Wall Backs marks a significant departure from the norm. The wall is designed to work seamlessly with the OpenLock 5.0 Tudor Wood Column O Post Pillar, allowing users to easily switch between "A" style walls and create a variety of designs using just four prints. To achieve this versatility, the user simply needs to print four "A" walls, which can then be combined in different ways to create one of four unique wall types. This approach eliminates the need for multiple 3D prints, making it an attractive option for users looking to minimize their collection's size while still achieving a wide range of designs. The design process began with modifying the OpenForge 5.0 Bool Tool to match the user's base tile. A wood texture was then added to the outside of the base, providing a seamless transition between the wall and any potential second-floor structures. To accommodate the thinner wall thickness, additional wood texture was applied to the top of the base. This concept builds upon previous designs by Printable Scenery, which featured mid-wall styles with wood post end caps. The user's design takes inspiration from these creations, incorporating elements such as thinner Tudor walls and wooden post end caps to ensure proper fitting. One notable aspect of this design is its adaptability. The top "nubs" have been modified to fit the OpenLock 5.0 standard, allowing for seamless stacking within the same collection. However, users should note that these nubs may not work correctly with non-compatible walls, requiring a manual fix using a drill bit. The Chevron Down version of this design has already been printed and tested, revealing that the first layer thickness can sometimes cause issues with the pegs. To address this problem, users can simply widen their base layer for better adhesion or use a drill bit to carve out the base for improved functionality. As this design is still a work in progress, users are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for further improvement. Kudos to Printable Scenery for inspiring this project and providing valuable resources such as the Rampage System.
