OPENING OF PROSTHESIS

Hundreds of individuals worldwide with disabilities are fortunate to receive a free prosthesis thanks to ATOMIC_LAB's efforts. The current prosthesis allows limited movement of the arm, restricting users to a short range at a 90-degree angle. As a volunteer tasked with printing prosthetics, I was disheartened by the result when assigned to assist a working adult with children. Undeterred, I designed additional components that successfully enhanced the prosthesis's functionality. With a small adjustment, I created these custom pieces that are easily integrated into the standard prosthesis, significantly increasing the arm's opening angle and facilitating control for users. The added components provide a more natural and fluid movement experience. The parts fit seamlessly on both right and left arms, requiring only attention to scale when printing to ensure proper fit. To guarantee mechanical strength, print parts at the specified .stl file position. Completing the assembly, install an elastic band as illustrated in the final photo (2). This upgrade enables users to achieve their full range of motion with confidence. My contribution aims to empower thousands of individuals striving for their dreams.
