OPENING OF PROSTHESIS
myminifactory
Currently, hundreds of individuals with disabilities worldwide are fortunate to have access to a free prosthesis thanks to ATOMIC_LAB. The current prosthesis only allows for a short arm movement to articulate the hand, severely limiting user mobility to a mere 90-degree angle. I became aware of this limitation when assigned as a volunteer to print a prosthesis. Seeing a working adult with children benefit from this prosthesis was not satisfactory. As a result, I rolled up my sleeves and designed several new components after numerous designs. These small additions successfully met the objective by adding some crucial pieces. With a tiny grain of creativity, these small pieces significantly increased the arm's opening angle, facilitating control and providing a more natural, fluid movement for users. The parts fit seamlessly into both right and left arms, provided you print them to the same scale as the original prosthesis. To ensure mechanical strength, print the parts at the designated position in the .stl files. Completing the route requires installing an elastic band as illustrated in the final photo. This is my small contribution to continuing to help thousands of people achieve their dreams.
