OpenForge Tools: Magnetic Clamps
myminifactory
These magnetic clamps are designed so you can glue perfect 90-degree angles with ease. As a hobbyist, I've found myself regularly needing to glue parts together, which is why I created these after seeing them in action on Terranscapes. To ensure the resulting part is strong, it's crucial that it's tuned to your specific printer's specifications. This is because we want the wall thickness to be an exact multiplier of the nozzle size for maximum strength. I highly recommend customizing your prints if your nozzle is any size other than 0.4mm - my printer's standard nozzle size and the one used in all the STL files available. When using stronger magnets, you'll likely need three walls of equal thickness to achieve the desired level of strength. However, with weaker magnets, two walls should suffice. I've included a collection of videos below showcasing the clamps' performance at various levels of magnetic strength, as well as the original review that inspired me to create these clamps.
