OpenForge Tavern Bread Oven
thingiverse
I'm starting the process of filling out the kitchen of the Dirty Goat Tavern with a bread oven that's been meticulously designed after studying numerous paintings and real medieval bread ovens. This oven is capable of being lit by a mini tea light inserted within, which creates a stunning flickering fire glow. Post-Printing Preparation: When it comes to preparing the light source, I opted for Holiday Time Tea Lights but you can easily substitute them with any tea lights or even purchase a batch of flickering LEDs from Evil Mad Scientist, which I've found produces striking results when combining red and yellow flickering LEDs. If you choose to use raw LEDs, connect them to a CR 2032 battery by taping the leads on either side. This setup should last for approximately one week. Using tea lights offers the advantage of having an on/off switch. The following pictures demonstrate how to prepare a Holiday Time Tea Light for the oven: Get your Holiday Time Tea Lights Pop open the case Use snips to carefully cut around the edge, taking care not to damage the switch or battery compartment. Clipped around one side Fully clipped Dry fit the tea light in the oven. For Holiday Time Tea Lights, it will only fit in one orientation. Paint the base with black paint and cover the LED and front-facing area with hot glue while still tacky. Gently muss up the surface to create a flame-like appearance and diffuse the light emanating from the LED.
