OpenForge Miniature Bases: Cobble (Square)

OpenForge Miniature Bases: Cobble (Square)

I've decided to conduct an experiment. I realized that many of the textures used for my floors would make ideal foundations for miniatures. I chose to create this set to gauge interest in having textured bases. In the past, I've utilized the exceptional products from Micro Art Studio. They offer numerous beautiful bases, each with a multitude of variations at the same size, while also providing the same base styles in multiple sizes. This allows for a warband or even a set of minis for RPG to have a pleasant sense of variety while still being thematically cohesive. I've scoured Thingiverse for bases and discovered that there are many excellent bases available, but for the most part they lack variations at the same size or few size variants. With this expanded set, I've created over 200 variants across three different sizes. I've covered every game I have even passing familiarity with in the broader set, including D&D, Warhammer 40k, Age of Sigmar, Pathfinder, Malifaux, Infinity, Guildball, and Warmachine/Hordes. If there's a base variant under 100mm used by a game that isn't available in these sets, please let me know so I can add it to the set and all future miniature base releases. When printing, you want to make the base look its best for the miniature you've worked tirelessly on. For this reason, on any FDM printer (a printer that uses plastic filament), I strongly recommend printing the upright versions of the bases, as the detail on the z axis is significantly greater than the detail on the x/y axes. If you're using a resin printer, you can print the horizontal versions and achieve a great result. When printing the upright bases, you'll need to glue them, and possibly do some work with putty to deal with the seam. For instructions on getting started with OpenForge, we have a set of tutorials available. Want to sell OpenForge prints? Want to use OpenForge designs in your product? Check out the license FAQ. OpenForge is now a patron-supported project. I utilize the resources provided by my patrons to create more sophisticated tiles with a greater level of detail.
