Apply a layer of mod podge to smooth out the surface. Paint on the wall side, using layers of blue that get increasingly lighter as they approach the wall. Use dry brushing to add texture and depth to the walls, focusing mostly near the edge but also adding some subtle texture elsewhere. Apply two layers of mod podge to give the water area a glossy finish.
