OpenForge 2.0 Wood OpenLOCK Magnetic Base
thingiverse
OpenForge bases now seamlessly integrate with the OpenLOCK system. You can effortlessly use any OpenForge 2.0 internal 1x1, 2x1, 2x2, 2x4 and 4x4 tiles in conjunction with the OpenLOCK system. We've engaged in discussions with Printable Scenery and wholeheartedly endorse this open standard for locking tiles. This collection of bases boasts wood grain designs tailored specifically for tudor tiles. This set also features magnet holes, allowing you to utilize both systems simultaneously. For bases measuring 1x on one side, we must decide between OpenLOCK and magnets. The files labeled as "magnetic_priority" opt for magnets, while the others default to OpenLOCK. It's worth noting that OpenForge is based on a 50 mm framework, whereas OpenLOCK adheres to an inch basis. On a 2x2 tile, this discrepancy translates to merely 0.8 mm. These bases are designed on the inch basis, yet standard OpenForge tiles function perfectly well on them. The size difference is comparable to what can be expected from typical printing errors, rendering it imperceptible when using metric tiles atop imperial bases. However, if you're concerned about this disparity, you can print your x and y coordinates by a factor of 1.016 to align with the inch scale for the tile as well. For those new to OpenForge, we've compiled an instructional set of tutorials to guide you through the process.
