OpenForge 2.0 Flatbed Mine Wagon
cults3d
This is a remix of the OpenLock flatbed mine wagon I made, but with some significant changes. The original design was tailored to fit Melabam's OpenLock track perfectly, whereas this new version uses the same bodies as before, but with updated wheels and axle clamps that are specifically designed for Devon Jones' OpenForge mine railway. The two designs share a lot of similarities, but there is one key difference - the OpenForge track is slightly narrower than its OpenLock counterpart, which means the gap between the top of the sleepers and the top of the rails is less pronounced. As a result, these new wheels are designed to fit both tracks seamlessly. One notable feature that sets this design apart from most mine carts out there is its ability to accommodate 28mm figures standing upright on them. While this may not be entirely realistic, it makes them far more useful as gaming pieces in various tabletop games. When printing the bodies and axle clamps, you should be able to do so without any supports, but you may need to experiment with the wheels to see which orientation works best for your printer - either upright or lying down. Additionally, you will likely require at least a few supports (and some clean-up work) regardless of how you orient the wheels.
