OpenForge 2.0 Building this set, I discovered a new advantage of external tile sets over former edge tiles. The 0.5 versions of the tile can be attached separately from other parts on the cut stone base. I've included examples of how you can use this to create doorways for halls, and I expect this approach in the future will make external tiles incredibly versatile for building a wide range of tile combinations. Want a corner with a door on one side and a window on the other? This approach makes it possible. I've included below some examples of me using this technique. You can also print the door tiles in a full range of sizes like normal. Don't forget that if you want to have the door open the other direction, just print it mirrored on the x-axis. Also, I noticed when I had these settings next to each other in my painting station before I added doors, lining them up next to each other with no door makes for a fairly nice colonnade. OpenForge is now a patron-supported project. I use the resources that my patrons provide me to create more sophisticated tiles with a greater level of detail. Please, support me, and I'll deliver an ongoing stream of awesome gaming terrain. Post-Printing Instructions For assembly instructions, painting videos, and other extra information, see the instructions on the cut-stone wall. Making a Cut-Stone 1 Door Corridor To assemble a corridor with a single door, print: A 2x2 cut stone external corridor base from the external corridor set A 2x2 cut stone external wall tile A 2x0.5 doorway from this set A rounded door from this set My guess is that most hallways have doors that open outwards, so I position the doorway piece so that the hinge opens outwards. Assembling a Single Door Corridor Making a Cut-Stone 2 Door Corridor To assemble a corridor with a door on both sides, print: A 2x2 cut stone external corridor base from the external corridor set A 2x2 cut stone floor tile Two 2x0.5 doorways from this set Two rounded doors from this set Assembling a Double Door Corridor You can also use a normal doorway tile with a wall tile to add a door for a corridor if you don't mind showing that there is at least some squares behind the door.
