OpenBeam Strong Corner Braces

OpenBeam Strong Corner Braces

thingiverse

These braces are designed for assembling lengths of OpenBeam and may work with other 15mm aluminum extrusions too. The walls have a thickness of 4mm all around. They are available in two types, with or without bracing. Braced pieces are stronger and prevent wobbling and twisting forces, whereas non-braced ones use less material and still resist twisting. For printing, use ABS or PLA with 1 perimeter and 100% infill for maximum strength. For decorative purposes, try 2 or more perimeters at 40% infill. The holes in these pieces are 3mm but may be slightly undersized based on your printer settings. Drill them with a 3mm drill bit for a snug fit or 3.2mm for a looser fit. Alternatively, use an exacto blade to enlarge the holes. Attach using 8mm long screws and washers, followed by nuts that are lightly tightened, then slide onto OpenBeam sections and evenly tighten.
