OpenBeam Heavy Duty Coupler

OpenBeam Heavy Duty Coupler

thingiverse

To fix a mis-cut OpenBeam piece in an OB1.4 OpenBeam printer hardware kit for a friend, I crafted a robust coupler with walls over 8mm thick that fits the OpenBeam closely. It features bolt holes for 16 3mm screws, adjustable length depending on washer usage, and can couple 1m lengths of OpenBeam when printed at 100% infill. Print it, clean screw holes if needed, drill to 3-3.2mm, insert OpenBeam halfway, add nuts, secure with screws/bolts and washers/lockwashers, and use 10-14mm bolts for proper fitment. The source file is in Autocad A123D format, and the printer's calibration ensures accurate fitting.
