Open Z Spur gear Mod 0.5.
thingiverse
For the OpenZ Project, I've crafted two Spur gears: a 42t that matches a 10t pinion, boasting a 22mm outer diameter, and a 40t that pairs well with a 12t pinion, featuring a 20mm OD. These parts were printed in ABS, which appears to be robust enough. Nylon and PETG are also suitable alternatives. The gears are 3mm thick and have a 3mm hole. To achieve optimal results, I found that slightly reducing extrusion was key by setting the flow rate to 95% and disabling thin lines. I've recently added a 43t gear that meshes tightly with the 9t pinion. However, printer settings play a significant role in determining the best mesh for such fine teeth as Mod 0.5.
