Show your loved one what's inside with this stylish gift box that features a bottom and lid bonded together, ensuring they never get separated. If you can't 3D print yourself, you can purchase a printed version from 3dWeeb's Etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/157663617/heart-box-a-3d-printed-box-perfect-for). This box comes with a film hinge that makes it easy to snap shut, thanks to recent improvements in the design (see heartcontainer fdm filmhinge4.stl*). The box was printed using PLA on a Prusa Mendel and has dimensions of 164 x 147 x 33 mm when printed, reducing to 100 x 100 x 35mm when closed. Results from MakerBots have been impressive, even at scaled-down settings of 0.6, with the hinges working flawlessly. To achieve good film hinges, it's recommended to use Slic3r with concentric infill for the bottom layer (0.4mm), followed by subsequent layers (0.3mm). Ensuring a well-printed first layer and carefully removing the print from the bed will also contribute to the box's quality.
