Open Source Hardware/Software Hair Ties
pinshape
Obviously, all my sisters in the making community know that hair should be kept out of our faces and away from hazards like spinning tools. We often wear it up in a bun or under a hat, but braids are also a great option when we're working with hot objects or soldering equipment. As women in tech, we face unique challenges in proving our credibility and expertise in male-dominated fields. It's not uncommon for us to encounter skepticism or even outright dismissal of our abilities. However, I believe that small gestures like showing support for open-source hardware (OSH) can go a long way in building trust and establishing our place within the community. These adorable hair ties are quick to print and don't require any additional support material. Simply attach a tiny dab of superglue to the loop and secure it over an elastic band, and you're good to go! In response to the unwanted attention some of my projects receive, I'm making a conscious effort to present myself in a more subdued way. After all, when you're trying to make a serious impression, you want to look as professional as possible.
