Open Source 3D Printed RC Snowmobile (Using open rc f1 electronics)
thingiverse
Hello and welcome to 3Drcnc! This is the OP3D RC Snowmobile project (Open source 3d printed rc snowmobile). A project that I've been working on for quite a bit of time. As the title suggests I've made a fully open source 3d printable snowmobile. And the best thing is that it uses the same electronics as the Open rc f1 car (except for the servo). Therefore many people already have the most expensive components for this build which is great. This is one of my biggest projects and I really wanted as many of you as possible to be able to build it. Therefore I have tried to make clear written instructions but also an assembly guide that consists of two videos. With that said this build is a bit more complex and more diy than the open rc f1 car. Still, If you like 3d printing, rc stuff and want a really fun project this is it. It’ll be fun along the way and once the build is complete. It’s a great way to get something fun out of the open rc f1 car even during the winter. And you could of course just swap it back when you feel the need for some f1 speed as well. Here is my introduction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYAAATcfTOo And here are the two build guides Part1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTMGH2WbR1Q Part2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c5ODbu6vgM Here are some suggestions for the hardware: Ball joints: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/heavy-duty-ball-link-27mm-m3-black-10pcs.html Push rods: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/metal-push-rods-m3xl300-2pcs-set.html?queryID=0f494191ddd9078dbbe2bc6373bd32e7&objectID=5610&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products Nuts/bolts: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/workbench/hardware/fasteners.html Nuts/bolts/bearings: https://www.ratrig.com/hardware2/openbuilds/screws.html Electronics: http://danielnoree.com/openrc-f1-electronics-hardware-banggood/ Servo: https://www.banggood.com/MG995-High-Torgue-Metal-Gear-Analog-Servo-for-RC-Airplane-Models-p-73885.html?cur_warehouse=CN&rmmds=search You'll also need two 60 mm shocks or you could just print a stiff replacement if you don't feel the need for it. In softer snow the suspension doesn't really do much. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I would prefer questions on the Youtube videos or via mail. 3dprinting.3drcnc@gmail.com . I don’t really trust Thingiverse to send out notifications. Happy printing! /3Drcnc
