Open Sim Shifter + H Shifter (Reversed) Mashup
thingiverse
I started printing the Open Sim Shifter with the USB base mod and quickly realized I didn't like the PVC pipe design, but I did really like the feel of the shifting mechanism. Because it is spring loaded, you can adjust the feel of the forward/backward shifting as well as how stiff it feels by adjusting the springs or the nut holding the mechanism in place. I also wasn't really a fan of how the micro switches were assembled or the arm that pushes them. For some reason (probably my sloppy assembly), the arm kept catching on the micro switches, so I started looking for other designs and came across the H pattern shifter (reversed) that was a perfect design to mash up with the OSS: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3883509 Took the bottom two base files and added holes for the 8mm threaded rods the H pattern shifter is designed around and everything fit together perfect. I also cut a hole in the side of the USB version base because my controller has the USB Type B connector built in. I left the pieces to add a bolt to the bottom to allow you to mount it via those holes or you could copy the 4 hole pattern and run the threaded rods through whatever base you plan on mounting it to. NOTE: IF ANYONE HAS AN IDEA ON HOW TO MOUNT A NUTRAL SWITCH, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
