This is my innovative take on the Open Sesame, a cutting-edge tool designed to keep users clean and germ-free while opening doors and pressing buttons. The primary purpose of this tool is to prevent people from contracting sicknesses through door handles and buttons, thus preventing the spread of illness. By using the Open Sesame, individuals can rest assured that they are taking proactive steps to protect themselves and those around them. I am proud to say that my design for the Open Sesame is entirely original, a feat that is not easily achieved in today's world where countless inventors strive to create something unique. While researching potential concepts, it's easy to discover that someone has already come up with an idea similar to yours. However, the Open Sesame stands out from other preexisting gadgets due to its exceptional design and functionality. Unlike standard hook door openers that allow germs to spread through contact between the device and user's pocket, the Open Sesame features a protective casing around the hook, preventing germ transmission. I encased the hook within two symmetrical snapping parts - the male and female connectors - ensuring a secure fit and easy sanitation when needed. To alleviate concerns about germ buildup over time, the Open Sesame's protective shell comes apart for convenient cleaning. In contrast to other openers with cases, they often lack effective mechanisms to keep the hooks in place, rendering them ineffective. Furthermore, these products frequently have loose hooks that don't stay still during use, which is why I added a locking mechanism - a pin that blocks the hook from falling out and keeps it steady in use. The locking mechanism also stays within the casing, eliminating the risk of losing it. To make the Open Sesame even more practical, I incorporated a hole in the middle to attach it to a keychain, making it portable and easy to carry. With the Open Sesame, individuals can confidently protect themselves and others from contracting and spreading illnesses like COVID-19.
