Open Lamp Shade

This is an OpenSCAD script designed to create custom shades for lamp sockets. Ikea offers affordable options like Hemma or Strala with LED lights that produce minimal heat. By adjusting filament color, you can generate unique patterns. The script features two lamps, A and B, which can be customized using variables. Lamp B is the reverse twist of A, while A+B combines both structures. Experiment with variable settings until you find a design you like. The generated STL file will need to be imported into your slicer and configured for vase mode. In the script's notes, I've included my measurements for two common Ikea lamp sockets. Make sure to use an LED bulb and leave it open at the top. The STL is printed upside down, with a base to secure the lamp socket in place. Remember not to exceed your 3D printer's dimensions. Success depends on your skill level.
