Open NRF24L01+ based remote controller designs for electric skateboard controllers. Most Chinese boards utilize this chip for communication until end of 2018, then switch to newer Bluetooth based designs. The motor controller that comes with most Chinese boards is a no name Chinese product and can be configured to run four motors. However, it's not compatible with the newer Hobbywing Bluetooth based controllers. For more information, visit my Hackaday project page at https://hackaday.io/project/161730-open-esk8-remote-v1 for detailed description. I reverse engineered the communication protocol between the board and the remote, then wrote my own code using an Arduino Nano. To build the controller, I designed a PCB around selected components and assembled everything into a solid enclosure that fits comfortably in my hand during long rides. To print the parts, I used PLA material with support and printed the hollow side down. The prints came out nicely, but removing the support was a bit challenging.
