Retort stands can be super useful, especially in chemistry labs (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/FcdX8obS98A/maxresdefault.jpg), but they also come in handy for steeping coffee (https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ab/70/98/ab7098ea9709549b3eeb72145bfbbdc1.jpg) and even holding printer filament (Check out Daniel Schneider's https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28590). This design is perfect for those who don't want to shell out $15-30 for a standard retort stand. As someone who loves saving money, I was excited to create something customizable that wouldn't break the bank. To make one of these stands, you'll need: 1. A 3/8" OD round rod (any length will do, but typically it's around 24 inches) 2. A 3D printed base 3. An M4-0.7 screw (you can choose a thumb screw, socket, or whatever suits your preference) If the base needs extra stability, you've got plenty of options to weigh it down - literally! You could secure it to a wood block, clamp it to the table, place a sandbag on it, or even use fishing weights on the tray. The possibilities are endless! Have fun building your own retort stand and getting creative with it!
