Open Builds Acme Lead Screw conversion for Prusa X axis parts
thingiverse
I designed an Open Builds Acme Lead Screw and Nut Block conversion for Prusa X axis using Designspark Mechanical. The conversion utilizes the M8 Lead Screw and Nut Block from http://openbuildspartstore.com/nut-block-for-8mm-metric-acme-lead-screw/, which I tested beforehand to create new printer components. These parts were made quickly as a test of the Lead Screw and block's capabilities. They are based loosely on Aleph Objects Clamp X-ends, with adjustments made due to varying Z axis and Z linear rail distances in different printers. The original Prusa part dimensions for this section have been adopted instead. Additional features include three mounting holes for clamping X-axis linear rails and adjusting the Z-stop adjustment screw's position using an Open Builds M5 screws and T nuts combination. The T-nuts fit snugly into a recess at the bottom of the clamping plate and X-ends, near where the Nut Block is attached.
