Open Alpha Headphones Bass Adjustable Ear Cups
thingiverse
This is a remix of the Open Alpha headpones given to the DIY community by MrSpeakers Dan Clark, who designed the original as a production product and later gifted the design to the community. My remix replaces the vent holes on the original with an adjustable vent that can be easily customized using an M3 set screw threaded into the hole on top. The adjustment is straightforward: simply thread the set screw into the hole and adjust it as desired, achieving varying levels of openness or closure depending on the chosen length. Starting with an M3x12 screw will seal the vent completely, while still allowing for some airflow. For a more open configuration, using an M3x10 or M3x8 screw may be a better option, taking into account that the entire cup's ventilation can be adjusted. The headpones use a Hirose connector, but there is also a remix available that uses a 2.5mm jack instead. To facilitate editing and remixing, the .iges file has been included. Additionally, the baffles and original cups used for these headpones are readily available at [https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/open-alpha-t50-3d-printed-headphone-project-from-mrspeakers.825868/](https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/open-alpha-t50-3d-printed-headphone-project-from-mrspeakers.825868/)
