Open 3D fountain pen body mini & standard with screw post back
thingiverse
For the writing end of the pen, I utilized a Lamy nib/feed unit. I inserted the Lamy nib/feed into a short length of straw so that ink will not penetrate the printed area. The straw/feed combination was then tightly wrapped with multiple layers of scotch tape until it formed a firm fit inside the section. I discovered that the cap would not properly post at the back of the pen, so I redesigned it using Microsoft's 3D builder to add threads at the end of the body, allowing the cap to screw on securely to the back. I also preferred smaller pens, so at the same time, I shortened the body to accommodate a single international cartridge. The standard body length can contain two cartridges, one in use and one spare. Thanks are due to Zoidberg38 for developing this pen design. One day, I hope to master drawing fine threads that print well. I printed another fountain pen design, but the threads appeared to "melt." Probably the thread angle exceeded 45 degrees, and my printer could not handle it.
