The Vectra A appeared in 1988 to replace the Ascona C. It is available as a two-volume sedan with a hatchback (5 doors) or three volumes (4 doors). From the economical 1.4S (without power steering) to the 2.0 turbo 16s 4x4, the Vectra A is a car that offers a wide range for reaching the largest possible customer base. Engine options: Gasoline 1.4s (14NV) 75 hp (1988 - 1991) entry-level "GL" model without power steering. 1.6s (16SV) 82 hp, replaced in 1994 by the 1.6i (C16NZ) 75 hp; with power steering. 1.8i (C18NZ) 90 hp. 2.0i (C20NE) 115 hp (7 CV / 9 CV / 10 CV tax). 2.0i (20SEH) 129 hp (10 CV, reserved for GT models). 2.0i 16v (X20XEV) 136 hp (9 CV Ecotec first generation engine 1994 - 1995). 2.0i 16v (C20XE) 150 hp or 157 hp without a catalyst. (11 CV, only in sedan and model 2000 (specific sports body) and some rare GT models named GT16V. There were also some rare four-wheel drive models.) 2.0i 16v turbo (C20LET) 4x4 204 hp. 2.5i V6 (C25XE and X25XEV) 170 hp. Diesel 1.7d 57 hp of original General Motors (GM) until 1991 included 1.7d 57 hp of original Isuzu from 1992 to the end of model career 1.7td 82 hp of original Isuzu.
