Ooze/Retraction Test

Ooze/Retraction Test

thingiverse

When obsessing over my extruder's oozing issue, I stumbled upon various calibration pieces for testing ooze and retraction. After printing Hardik's excellent test piece around twenty times, I decided to create a faster-sliced, printed piece showcasing multiple ooze problems in one model. To fine-tune your GCode generator, slice the item and look out for: - ensure coolant activation - thin filaments floating freely (likely due to insufficient retraction) - thin segments of printed layers (possibly too much retraction) Despite my efforts, completely eliminating ooze remains challenging, possibly due to extruder setup issues. An Ultimaker upgrade, with its built-in slicing software and machine mechanisms, effectively combats ooze.
