Oogoo D20 Die Mold
thingiverse
This is a top-quality D20 die mold. The resulting rolls of the die bounce incredibly well! It is created using Svwich's high-speed D20 design, available here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:551. Making Instructions To make this mold work for you: - Use 5mm rods (bamboo skewers from a food store work fine). - Get some silicone caulk that smells like vinegar (make sure to remember it correctly). - Have cornstarch and some oil ready (I used canola). - A clamp would be handy, but not necessary. Print both the top and bottom molds of the die. I find printing in ABS and then acetone treating for a smooth finish gives me great results. Next, put some oil in the mold and gently wipe down with a towel to remove any excess. Now mix silicone caulk and cornstarch together in a 1:1 ratio (mix thoroughly until you have a consistent paste with no visible powdered cornstarch). Then, line up the notch and carefully push the molds together. Use 5mm rods to secure your die in place - you may also want to use a clamp for extra support. Let it sit for five to six hours (though letting it set longer is even better). Remove your new D20 die and start rolling for some thrilling results! Note: Isopropyl alcohol or acetone can remove any oil that's built up on the outside of your die, so be sure to clean it up once you've got everything working smoothly.
