OO9/009 'Tram' Hunslet for the Kato 11-109 Chassis
thingiverse
This is a model based on a narrow gauge Hunslet. Like a lot of other 'tram' models it's designed to fit onto the Kato 11-109 chassis. For this model, I've removed the top casing of the chassis so that I can make the model smaller. When you do this be careful as the motor is held in place by the top casing (the model's body serves a similar purpose) and don't remove the bottom casing or the wheels fall off! This is the first version, and it comes with and without the cab. It's a tight fit around the chassis, so if your resin shrinks, take this into account in your slicer settings, or else scale the model up slightly. I've also printed the springs separately. If you have trouble printing the model with springs attached you could print these, cut off the originals glue them on. This model is based on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4847548 which is used with permission from and gratitude to the original designer. This article shows how to strip the Kato chassis down, although it goes further than just taking the top off. A spot of card glue holds the motor in place nicely. https://tramfabriek.co.uk/kato-take-a-part.html For the handrails, I used Alan Gibson short brass handrail knobs (4M53) and 0.4mm wire. There's a template to bend the handrail wire if you want it to curve round the funnel. You might need to open up the handrail holes with a 0.8mm drill. If you do, it's best done before painting.
