Onitama is a two-player abstract game with a random setup that delivers perfect information to both players. The game unfolds on a 5x5 grid, where each player starts with five pawns on their side, including one main pawn in the middle position. Both players have access to two open cards displaying possible moves for any of their pieces, along with a fifth card that neither player can use. On each turn, a player selects one of their available cards and uses it to move one of their pawns according to the indicated action. The chosen card is then replaced by the fifth unusable card, which has been passed from the opposing player's hand. This process continues with the opposing player making their move using one of their own cards, replacing it with the same fifth unusable card that was previously used. The objective of the game is to capture an opponent's pawn by moving onto it. If a player captures their opponent's main pawn or moves their main pawn into the space where their opponent's main pawn started, they win the game.
