Onera HOR12 Airfoil Micro Drone Propeller (31.69g thrust @ 3V)
thingiverse
I designed this micro drone propeller by employing the **Onera HOR12** airfoil. It underwent rigorous testing on the **Drone Propeller Thrust Testing Jig**, and the results are displayed below. The part was printed at a leisurely pace, utilizing a **0.2 extruder nozzle** at 0.04mm layer height. A **Precision Knife** was then used to meticulously clean the final component. Following this process, I proceeded to smooth out the surface with a small piece of **500 grit sandpaper**. Here are the thrust readings for various voltage levels (you can also view these in the accompanying images): - **1.5V** yields **4.7 grams** - **2V** generates **13.56 grams** - **2.5V** produces **18.52 grams** - **3V** results in **31.69 grams** The downloadable files include all the photographs taken during the test, along with six text files containing the airfoil coordinates used in the build, printable STL files, and SLDPRT files. To operate the propeller, you will need to obtain a **8520 coreless motor**. You can utilize the SLDPRT files if you wish to make your own modifications to the propeller. **Warning:** The airfoil was plotted using the matplotlib library in python.
