One Print Hinged Case
thingiverse
This case prints complete with working hinges. I initially designed to print the latches as well, but they kept breaking off because layers weren't fully bonded, so this version prints the latches in the gap between the top and bottom case and then you simply snap them into place afterwards. This way, the latches are much stronger. This project was created in FreeCad, and both the original freecad file and an export in OpenScad format have been included for editing purposes. Although it is uncertain if this file can be edited successfully, any user is free to attempt modifications. The concept for these hinges originated from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:82533 but a custom version was developed here. Instructions You only need the OnePrintCase print. This model was designed specifically to fit within the 200mm x 200mm bed of an XYZ DaVinci, covering most of its area. The gap between the interior pin and the hole in the hinges has been intentionally left wide enough for movement without experiencing slop. Any modifications made to this print's size could possibly hinder its ability to function properly. The accompanying files (including those for the hinges) are available for any user wishing to incorporate them into their personal designs.
