A quick and simple design for 1 piece spools that accommodate both 1.75mm & 3mm non-flexible filament samples is available. The spool's 10cm diameter minimizes filament flexing. Using PLA, it weighs approximately 17gms, featuring numerous holes. If interested in a 3mm version with larger holes, please let me know - it may be created anyway. Last update: March 17th, 2015 Made adjustments to the hole size, reducing weight even further - now under 17gms. Added support for 3mm filament spools.
