I see my revised bearing-supported spool is finally online, so I'm replacing the earlier version with this latest design. It's a single piece of metal featuring an 8mm inline skate bearing at each end, firmly held in place by an internal 26mm Circ-clip that I ordered from http://www.springmasters.com/circlips.html (no endorsement or compensation involved). Additionally, I sourced the tool and assorted clips from them.
