This sculpture group features a cast from the face on St. Laurent's (North) portal at Strasbourg Cathedral, where it is part of many other post-Gothic sculptures in an early-Renaissance style. The piece shows one of three kings in the biblical scene depicting the presentation and adoration of the magi. It stands out as a rare instance of someone with darker skin represented in early Gothic art. The back portion of the head was left out of the casting process.
