One Inch Winch

Welcome to the one inch winch.  This consists of 3 parts, the winch base, spring and handle.Printed with .20mm layer height, only the winch requires tree supports.  Can be printed in PLA or PETG.  Spring does work in PLA but is more robust if using PETG or ABS.This was designed to support fishing wire guides (x4) for a helium miner antenna and has been in use for a number of months now.  It provides a way to keep the lines tight and when needed (by removing spring) the line can be unwound to provide slack.  The winch is designed for occasional use, i.e. setup and forgot.Design requires the use of Tree supports for the winch, gear and latch are print in place. See photo for example print with tree supports. These can easily be removed with pliers and any remaining hard to reach bits at the bottom can be dislodged by adding the handle and turning the gear.Turn handle (anti clockwise) until gear is free to turn.The spring can be attach to the square of the latch (top left) and then hooks into pin on the bottom right.  Once in place the winch can be turned anti-clockwise with spring providing a clicking action as latch lifts and re-seats it self.Base has 2 x 3mm hole for mounting.Gear pin has hole to thread fishing line or other suitable string like material.NOTE : No shame, but outside shot contains some spider webs and not the stringing of poorly dried filament.
