One-button adapter for Lifemax 1233 talking clock
thingiverse
The Lifemax 1233 talking clock was designed with visually-impaired individuals in mind but its design falls short in usability for those with impaired vision. The central button, which is used to tell time, is surrounded by five larger buttons that control functions like alarm setting, silence, and time adjustment. As a result, someone with partial sight may struggle to press the correct button, potentially causing unintended consequences when another button is accidentally activated. I created this cover to address these usability issues by adding a large single button to retrieve time information while allowing users to still access other features through holes in the cover that can be manipulated with a straightened paper clip. To assemble the parts after printing them, position the circular element on top of the cover's side without an indentation and secure it by inserting the small round piece from the opposite side. A single drop of superglue is often enough to keep the round elements in place if necessary. Once the parts are secure, attach the cover to the Lifemax 1233 using double-sided adhesive tape on top.
