On-Camera Floodlight... Cold shoe... Wedge Thing

thingiverse

This is a little wedge-shaped cold-shoe mount adapter intended for attaching pocket floodlights to compact cameras. By being wedge-shaped, it gives you the option to point the light slightly up or slightly down, which I find more useful than only having the ability to point the light straight - while being much more compact than the mini ball head + cold she adapter contraptions often used to mount these pocket lights. It was designed with the Genaray PB64 in mind, because... that's the one I have - but there's some flexibility since the screw can slide, so it should work with other little floodlights with minimal modification. I've tested it with these screws: https://www.mcmaster.com/92220A181/ Just get a 1/4 20 screw that is about 1/4" long, with a head no wider than 0.375". I recommend printing it vertically with the thick side down, with supports on the build plate only - this seems like the easiest way to make the thin cold shoe mount part.
