On Air Sign
thingiverse
This "On Air" sign is a prop designed specifically for radio plays. Initially, it was crafted from a wooden box that housed a bottle of wine, but now its exterior serves as a clever disguise. The three printed components slide together seamlessly to replace the original wooden lid, creating an authentic look. A simple addition of a bulb and a small piece of red cellophane (or tissue paper in this instance) is all it takes to bring the sign to life with a warm glow. To accommodate my build plate's limitations, I decided to split the design into three distinct parts. When rotated diagonally, the middle segment fits snugly within a 136 mm square. I took extra precautions to ensure that light would not leak through by applying electrical tape to the seams between the segments. Duct tape could also serve this purpose effectively.
