OMVS v8 Base Split in Two for Smaller Printers (Ender3 Pro etc)
prusaprinters
You can print all parts of the OMVS shell split version on a smaller printer like an Ender 3 Pro (when sliced with Prusa Slicer) with the exception of the base which requires a printer with a larger build plate. I split the v8 base in two with Meshmixer to enable owners of 3D printers with smaller build plates like my Ender 3 Pro to print it in two parts and glue it together.I used Prusa Slicer detachable paint on supports (snug setting) on the overhang on the back STL ignoring the error “A toolpath outside the print area was detected” when slicing and no supports are required on the front. After printing, I used Araldite rapid two part epoxy and applied with a cocktail stick on the join, clamped both pieces down on top of a sheet of A4 paper on a flat surface with strong tape either side of the join on both sides and left for 24 hours to cure. There may be a better way of splitting it but the sections are too small to use pins/pegs. This works for me.Link to original OMVS Shell Split Version:https://www.printables.com/model/145301-omvs-shell-split-version/files
