Interchangeable Handles & Toolheads Compatible with Standard 1/4" Hex Bits & Handles Transform your trusty old screwdriver bit holder into a new tool by pairing it with one of the OMT² toolheads. Or, if you're desperate to tighten a loose screw but can't find your bit holder, print one up quickly. Even better, create a tool that doesn't exist yet! Using the guidelines below, your creation will be compatible with every OMT² toolhead/handle and every standard bit holder you come across. All dimensions are given "flat to flat" (circumscribed diameter). Male (plugs for tool bits) height is always 5.5mm for tool bits. Tight: 1/4" (6.35mm) => radius: 3.175mm Basic: 6.25mm => radius: 3.125mm Loose: 6.15mm => radius: 3.075mm Female (sockets for handles) depth is always 6mm for sockets. One size only: 6.70mm => radius: 3.35mm TODO What needs to be done: Redo all the tools and bits in parametric (OpenSCAD). Create crazy, useless, or funny tool bits. Explanation This project is the evolution of the (now discontinued) "Open Multi Tool" project. The main difference between the two is the ability to use all OMT² toolheads and handles with any 1/4" (6.35mm) Hex bits and handles that you probably have lying around or can find in any hardware store around the world.
