I'm building a compact robot using inexpensive omniwheels, designed with my friend, which features S04NF continuous rotation servos and a 3D printed frame that takes shape like a regular hexagon. This design includes attachment points for the servos in a triangular configuration, ensuring stability and balance. The frame also boasts press-fit mounts to connect the omniwheels directly to the servos, eliminating any potential misalignment issues. Our custom-built omniwheels closely resemble those from hobbyking but have an inner diameter of 8mm instead of 10mm, making them more versatile and adaptable. To adjust the oozby file for our specific needs, it's simply a matter of tweaking the design parameters to match our desired diameter. This flexibility is a major advantage when working with 3D printing technology. The M5 bolts seen in the accompanying image are optional but add an extra layer of security to the assembly process. By looping a zip tie through each bolt block behind the servo tab and tightening it down with pliers, we can ensure a snug fit between the servo mounting tabs and the frame. Alternatively, we could opt for smaller servo tab holes and screw the servos directly onto them for an even more secure connection.
