Omnibot 2000 Arm Joint
cults3d
I have an Omnibot 2000 robot whose arm hangs limp at its side. The likely cause is a broken arm joint, which can be seen in the second and third photos, where the common-failure part has broken off. I repaired my own broken joint years ago by creating a silicone mold from the original part and then casting a functional replacement using that mold. Now that I have access to a 3D printer, I've decided to use it for something truly useful - making a replacement arm joint. The new joint is identical to the original except for one key difference: its top part is designed with extra material to increase its strength. In the photos, you can see the purple piece is the printed replacement and the grey piece is the original arm joint that came with my Omnibot 2000 robot. This particular part is extremely hard to find, and as far as I know, there's no other source for either a new joint or a digital model of one. That's why I'm making this design available to the public at no cost - but I reserve the right to remove it from the market at any time if needed. You're free to print this model for your own use, but selling the file or the finished piece is strictly prohibited. If you find this model helpful, a small donation would be greatly appreciated!
