Here are two 3D printed versions of a 3D printed head for a Gassaway style Omni-Pad, plus some associated pieces. Mr. Gassaway’s original design is here: http://georgesrockets.com/GRP/LaunchGear/Glider_Tower.html . I apologize that they are a mixture of metric and American, but I live deep in the hear of darkest American where most hardware is S.A.E. At least the legacy 5” hole spacing is also 127mm on the nose. The heads come in two versions: one plain and the other is indexed. The indexing is from the center with 1mm wide marks spaced 2mm apart so all the references end up being 1mm apart. The heads have holes for both fixed and fallaway umbilical setups. The fallaway umbilical was inspired by old half-remembered footage of Mercury and Soviet launches. The shim is 10mm thick for one-dimentional easy scaling to whatever thickness that you want it to be. For added geek goodness, print the final thickness in resistor code colors like violet for 7mm thick. The split shim is for scaling and printing in two colors and gluing together, for instance brown and black for 10mm. Some starter deflectors are included. These fit into a 1” square aluminum tube. Glue a 2x4” ceramic tile on the big slope. The tiles are available and cheap at home improvement stores. The wire-clip is a little bonus to hold the umbilical wire. The safety caps for the ends of the rods are another bonus.
