I own a fantastic camera, the Olympus OMD EM10, the original mark one model. This camera is my go-to workhorse because it's lightweight and easy to carry everywhere I go. Unfortunately, it has a rather frustrating flaw - the eyecup always comes loose over time. I first noticed this issue when I bought the camera, but it became really annoying after I lost the original eyecup. I recently purchased an official replacement for £25, which was supposed to be durable and long-lasting. However, it broke just months after purchase, despite being a genuine OEM product. This made me realize that I needed a more reliable solution. That's why I designed this new eyecup myself. It's not perfect, with minor gaps between the camera and the cup, but it's constructed from a single piece of flexible material, which makes it much less likely to snap like my previous replacement did. The eyecup stretches around the fitting, making it harder to slide off than my original one was. However, I've designed the eyecup so that it can be removed by pulling it straight out of the back of the camera. This means that if it does manage to come loose, you'll have an easier time finding it because of its bright color and low cost (just 2 grams of material for around 8p or £0.08, plus a mere 1 hour and 30 minutes of print time). Of course, I do want to note that the environmental impact of this design is significant, so please try to be mindful of this when using it. In terms of design, I've aimed for a lower profile that reduces the risk of catching on camera bags or clothing, which can lead to loss. However, this also means that the cup doesn't protrude as far from the screen, which might be a problem for some users. Additionally, I've contoured the eyecup with a right-eye bias, making it comfortable when used along the right cheek at a slight angle and cupping the right eye. If you prefer to use your camera with the left eye, you may need to flip the STL file.
